Garrick, of jSt. Alb ins, is claiming from James Copland, of Chertsey farmer, for specific performance, £1000 damages re the sale of vli*» Htalertu'i Jfcstate 3 of 11,972 acres- freehold, ioi £2ji,oCo. The defence allied th.it Matson and Co., who sold the land on behalf of Copland, acted as agent and in collusion with Garrick for the sale of the estate to him, and the defendant was thereby defrauded. NELSON, November 26. At the Supreme Court, Henry Brewer pleaded guilty to stealing 40 ounces of gold from his employers, the Parapani Hydraulic Sluicing Company, of Collingwood. He was granted probation for twelve months, on payment of the costs, £15. '
