WANGANUI CELEBRATIONS

The General Committee meets this evening a* the Borough Chambers ait. 7.30. As finishing touches to tlie arrangements for Saturday are to I>e made it is absolutely necessary that every member should be present. The sub-committees appointed at last meeting of the Committee find that so far a.s the tableaux and general spectacular effects are concerned the original intention is ito be adhered to.

One of the features of the illuminations wi'il be tha display atl the handsome new Post Office.

Arrangements have been made for decorating and festooning round Moutoa Gardens and for this purpose over 900 flags have been purchased. The illuminations will be; on even a more magnificent scale than at first decided on. iird visitors will be agreeably surprised at this portion of tike festivities.
