DARING BOBBERY FROM A BANK CLERK.

(Eeceived November 7, 2 a.m.) Melbourne, November 5 A clerk from tbe Australian Mortgage Company, who had been sent to cash a cheque at the English and Scottish Bank yesterday, placed the bag containing £435 in notes upon the counter. Some person iv the crowd remarked that he I had dropped a note upon the floor, and while the clerk and others were looking down for the note, supposing that it had been dropped, the thief exchanged tho . bag of notes for another bag of similar appearance, containing rolls of paper. 1 The thief escaped unnoticed, and no clue has yet been obtained as to his identity.
