(Beoeived November 5, 9.55 p.m:) Melbourne, November 5 The concluding day's races of the Viofcorian Baoing Club's Spring meeting took place at Flemington this afternoon. There was a fair attendanoe of visitors, their Excellencies Sir Henry Looh and Lord Oarington being present. The weatber broke in the afternoon and cons tinued fine throughout the remainder of the day, but in consequence of the rain which fell during the morning the course was rather heavy. The various events resulted as follows : — Maiden Plate ; one mile and a quarter. Mr Harvey's Pakeha 1 Mr Cohen's Jebu.-te 2 Whakawai 3 Won easily by five lengths. Time, 2min 18|_ec. Foal Sakes ; one mile and a quarter. The Hon, Mr White's Oranbrook ... 1 Mr Cooper's Niagara ... ... 2 The Hon. Mr White's Enigma ... 8 Won oleverely by three-quarters of a length; Time, 2min 19seo. Flemington Stakbs j half a mile. Mr Hall's Yen ture 1 Mr Longbein's Sylvester 2 Mr Miller's Alma 3 Won by half a length, after a oapitai finish. Time, 55sec. V.R.C. Handicap ; one mile and three* quarters. The Hon. Mr White's Carlyon ... 1 Mr Longbein's Oakleigh 2 Mr Northern's Keith 3 Won by balf a length. Time, 3min T&Jseo. Spade Guinea and eight others started. Steeplechase ; about three miles. Mr Bryant's Ruby 1 Mr Pearson's Boyal Oak 2 Mr Martin's Lizette 3 Seven horßes faced the' starter,' and Borne aplandid jumping took place. The steeplechase oourse was very wet, and in some places the horses had great difficulty in keeping their footing. Won easily. Beadsman, Kildare, and Yankee Grab came to grief. Time 6min 18sec. Canterbury Platis ; two miles and a half. Mr Gannon's The Australian Peer.."; 4 The Hon. Mr White's Abercorn .... 2 Mr Donovan's Dunlop ... ..'. 3 The three horses named were the only starters. The Peer won easily by two lengths, Time, 4min 45seo. Free " Handioap ; one mile and a furlong, Mr O'Shannaay's Bagman 1 Mr Osborne's Algerian ... ... 2 Mr MoEvoy's Chioago ... ... 8 Splendid finish. Bagmam scoured premier position by a neok. Time, 2min l£seo. Pasha and other horses also ran. c
