The board met at 7.80 last night. Present — Messrs Garson (chairman), Sanson, Bridge, Baker, Stevens, <md Bate. After the confirmation of the minutes the board sat as the Appointments Committee. — Letter from "Wanganui School Committee, ac» csptinsf Miss Molver as assistant at the girls' school, and Ms W. J. Andrew as assistant at the boys' school ; appointments confirmed. From the Awahuri committee stating that they had accepted Mr Insoll, of Beaconsfield, to fill the vacfiuoy there; appointment coefirtned. Letter from the chairman of the Foxton oommitteo respecting theremoval of the male pupil teacher ; re- . solved that the teacher receive three months' notice of the termination of his engagement ; also that the committee be informed that the pupil teaoher has received notice to leave, nnd that the board will take steps to fill the vaoanoy. Letter from the Marton oommitteo applying for more 5 teaching power; » pupil teaoher to be appointed as early as possible. — Resolved to write to the inspector for definite information ze< specting the male pupil teacher af; Aramoho, and if approved hia name to be sent to Marton by the exeoutite ; if not, to receive three months' notioe of termination of engagement* — The inspector's report was then . read.— The attention of the head master and'assistant teaoher at Haloombe, and -master; at Karere to be called to the inspector's report.— Moved by : Mr Bate and sec* onded by Mr Notuian, That the teacher at Waitotara receive three months' notice of dismissal- As an amendment -^ it was moved by Mr Bridge and laeo* onded by Mr Stevens, That unless the teaoher at Waitotara show better results when the inspector next.visitu the school he will receive three months notice of dismissal.
