MUNICIPAL CONFERENCE
♦— — . PER UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION. Weliington, October 31 A meeting of the Municipal delegates was held at the Council CLanaber this morning. There were present— Messrs McGregor (Akaroa), Goldie (Auckland), Scaly (Aehburton), Maokenzie (Balclutha), Hulbart (Ohristohurch), Leary (Dunedin), Graham (Gisborne), Udy ; (Greytown), Tanner (Hast'ngs), J. McKeuzie (Hawkesbury West), Wade, (Hokitika), Moore (Kaiapoi), Joyc9 (Lyttelton), Ormoud (Napier), Al/eo (North East Valley), J. McKenzie (Palmerston), Moss (Parnell\ Mills (Port Chalmers), Ross (Koslyn), Taylor (Sydenham), Kelly (Tauranga), Fraser (Thames), and the Mayor of Wellington. The last named was elected chairman. It waT decided to establish a Municipal Association for New Zealand ; but on a motion to appointa committee to draw up rules for its guidance, the expediency of making the association permanent was called in question, and it was determiuod to go on with the business first and to discußs this point afterwards. The meeting then adjourned uutil tomorrow.
