(PER UNITED PBESS ASSOCIATION.) Wellington, June 27. In the Council to-day the debate was resumed on the New Hebrides resolution, which was opposed by Mr Wilson, and supported by Messrs Chamberlain, Dignan, and Pollen. — The' resolution was then carried. — Mr Oliver moved, That the Council concur in the resolution passed by the House re the expenditure for June. — Sir G. Whitmore condemned the Government for making the law in obtaiuing the imprest. — Mr, Whitaker maintained that the action was striotly' legal, and said that it was taken by his advice. — Mr Wilson thought that the Government had not acted rightly. — The motion was agreed to. The House rose at 4.50 p.m.
