(per united press association ) AUCKLAND. June 23. A quantity more of the jewellery belonging to Henrickson has been found in bottles, concealed under water, in the graving dock. This, with the jewellery found in the Domain, covers the entire quantity. The Resident Magistrate this morning committed Stevens for trial, stating that the legal question raised by the counsel for the defence could not he decided in that Court. The defence is reserved. A petition to Parliament is being signed favourable to the remission of the legacy duty on charitable bequests. Matthew Curtis or Hollis, employed as a labourer at the Sugar Company's works, died suddenly on board the ferry steamer to-day of lwart disease. The Touquy, barque, has cleared for London with a cargo valued at £23, "56. Henry Johnson has been drowned at Coromiindel, through tho siukiug of a boat with a cargo of oysters. An inquest will be held ou the body. In Matthew Hollis or Curtis' case Dr Hooper identified the body, and stated that he had attended the deceased for heart disease.
