ON THE WAY TO PARIHAKA.
(per united press association.)
Opunake, June 20.
Three hundred Maoris hav.e^passed through town on theii? w'ayfytf Parihaka. Fifty occupied buggies, and the rest were on horseback. All were well dressed, and none pulled up at the hotels, but marched straight through like a cavalry regiment. They were prevented from coming through on Saturday, as the following day. used to be the date for holding the meeting at Parihaka. Since then most of them camped at Oeo. Many have come from Wanganui, Waitotara, and other places down the coast. Titokowaru came along at the head of the procession. It is believed they will only be permitted to remain at Parihaka twenty-four hours.
