Nevertheless, the attendance, was counted by thousands. Last year 8000 people visited the groun d, and but for the rain the crowd would have been still greater this time. The show was emphatically a good one, the chief features being sheep and implements. Shorthorn cattle were in force, and the draught horses were pronounced the; best, yet shown. The Flower Show, which accompanies the Agricultural Show> was this ; year above the average. The principal prize- takers were — Mr Silver, best merino ram, any. age; ditto, best ewe ; Messrs R. Campbell and Sons medal. Best Leicester, N.Z/ and A.L. Company ;, ditto ewe,. Mr P. n. Schrulkold. Border Leiceatera, W. Boers; and the Land Uncolns, the Hon ,51. W. Holmes took both. Romney Marsh, Mr J. Reid took both.., Cotswold, -Mr-J. Ford took both. The Hon R; Campbell and. Sons were a long way ahead of others "in merino sheep. Champion shorthorn bull, Mr J.
