The performances of these animate iv New Zealand and Australia need no comment Le Loup won the Canterbury J. C. Handicap and Cup in 1880. Opera, grand dam of Morpheus, won the Canterbury Derby in 1864. Tambourini was also from Opera, by Towton, and won amongst other races, tho Canterbury J. 0. Handicap and Canterbury and Wellington Cups, besides performing successfully over hurdles. Salvage by Costaway ran second for tho Wellington Cup last year, giving tho winner a year and a pound.
