The above is the third match, which counts for both Bifle • and Carbine Championships. • =. -, November 5. ' After lunch yesterday the ?Otago and Wellington matches, which count for the Bifle and Carbine Belts respectively, were started, but about four o'clook thay were postponed in consequence of heavy rain. They will not be resumed uutil Tuesday morning, it having been decided not to interfere with the programme for Monday, which comprises the last range of the Wellington Match,' and the firing of, the •Oamaru and Union Matches. The stopping of the shooting yesterday meets with but little satisfaction from the competitors, who would have preferred to go on. P. O. France, of Wellington Naval Brigade, being the highest scorer in the first three matches, takes the medal presented to the Association by Mr G. Hyndtnan, jeweller, Dunedin. Volunteer Brooks, of Dunedin, wa3 seoond with 142, being one point behind Francs. Otago Match.— 4th for Eifle Belt. 200, 500, and 600 yards, seven rounds at each distance. Open only to Volun teer members of the association whose corps are armed with Snider rifles, Government pattern.
