Mr WiU am Cowern has been appointed agent. It is rumourel that the Patea Steamship Cempany axe endeavouring to arrange the purchase of the 'vessel, the manager having been despatched to Wellington, ■ The Bauraki shonld errive from Opmnake on ■this morning's tid*. ' ' , . The Hauraki will sail for Wellington at 4 p.m. to-day. . An important new steamship company has been .projected to develop the trade of South Australia with Western Au3'ralia. It ii understool that two of the leading local steamship companies will ■bo amalgamated. Both of them, hare new steamers building, the largest of which are over 180 tons, and were intended for the Melbourne Jrado. ■ They ore to have the highest attainable speed, and the newest arrangement for passenger Accommodation, including the electric light. The new company proposes ro -trade between Adelaide and Western Australia and Port Darwin, with a Bervice to the Eastern Co'onies, making" Adelaide the central point of operations, :
