A court of inquiry has been held bi-i v into the collision which took pluce between the P. and O. steamship' Peshawur and the barque Glenroy. The finding has been that the barque was to blame, and the captain's certificate has been suspended for six months. • (Received October 27, 1 p.m.) PARIS. October 25. The French Minister of Justice, in applying to day for a change of venue in the trial of a number of Socialist strikers, declared that he holds threads of evidence of a vast revolutionary organisation which is now permeating France. The statement, has caused much excitement throughout the country. (SPECIAL TO PRESS ASSOCIATION.) LONDON. October 23. The former English creditors of Messrs Christopher Newton and Company, warehousemen, of Sydney, have entertained Mr Newtown at a banquet in recognition of the firm's honourable conduct in having, after a period of temporary difficulty, paid all demands in full. A meeting has been held at the Man- , sion House with the view of establishlishing a Steauv Yacht Club. All the colonies are invited to co-operate. Ootober 25. '■ It is thought probable that the Khedive, fearing the revelations which they might make if pushed to an . extreme, will content himself with exiling the leaders of the rebellion. Cetewayo is to be restored in six months. The Daily News Btrongly urges the admission of Sir Charles Dilke (Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs) and the Right Hon. Henry Fawcett (Postmas-ter-General) to seats in the Cabinet.
