After several false starts Turquoise and Problem were first away, Trumpeter being left at the post. Passing the stand Turquoise led, followed by Problem and Quail. Turquoise kept the lead till reaching the back of the course, when Mor rushed to the front, and, Turquoise falling back, Holderness. took second place, Blue Jackets lying ..-third and King Quail last. Mor led till the run into the straight, when Holderness collared her and led- her by a length past the stand, Turquoise lying next, and King Quail, who had been gradually improving his position, close on the favourite's heels. Problem was last. Before reaching the back of tho course Mor was done with, and, Turquoise going up to Holderness, the pair led along tho back stretch, with King Quial two lengths away. Problem rushed up to the heels of the son of Yattendon, but soon died away, and it was quickly evident that Watties mount had had enough. The whip was also on Holder.
