K The Bank of New , Zealand, held its forty-second half-yearly meeting to-day-The Directors report, shows a net, profit for the half-year,after, making allowanoe for doubtful debts, &c, £98,921, 17s 9d, to which was to- 1 be" added the balance from last year — £11,003, 12s 2d—making £109,925, 9slld; which it is recommended to appropriate " as ; follows : Dividend at the *ate of 10 per cent, per annum, .£50,000 '; bonuß of os per share, equal to 5 per cent.. £25J000 ; addition to reserve fund, £25,000, balance to profit and' loss new .account, £9,925 9s lid.
