There ■ was a large turn out on the training ground this morning. Most of the horses did three-quarter pace work. Guesswork was going very strong inside the course, . and Frying Pan, Savanaka, Sengenhqe, and Prometheus were doing steady work, evidently preparing for the great trial. Lord Burghley and Jessie went twice round the course, the filly pleasing greatly by her excellent form. Cunnamulla, Sardonyx, Darebin, Bagot, and Stockwell did good useful work. The rumour about Sting being Bold -to the bookmakers is quite untrue. Segenhoe is now at 7to 2, and 4tol is wanted. A considerable amount of money has been invested on Sting at 8 to 1. Tho favourites for doubles now are Navigator, Sting, Sweet William, and Cunnamulla. [The above message was received at his office at 1.55 a.m.]
