British troops are now beginning to arrive from Egypt, and banquets are being organised in their honour at several places. (Received October 22.. 10.30 a.m.) Tenders for the Auckland Harbour Board £150,000 5 per cent, loan were opened to-day. The total amount offered is £345,500, the tenders ranging from £100 to £103. The average wbs £ 101 12a 2d. Tenders at £101 10s 6d and upwards will receive in full, and those at £101 10s will receive 75 per cent. Consols continue at 101 f. Bank rate remains at 5 and market rate at 3$ per cent. The Bank of England reserve remains at £10,300,000, or £300,000 more than last week. New Zealand securities are at last quotations — viz : — New Zealand 5 per cent. (10.40 loan), 103 J. New Zealand 5 per cent. (1889) loan, 107. New Zealand 4£ per cent. (1878.1904] loani 101£. Oolonial breadstuff's are firm at 49s for Adelaide wheat, ex warehouse, and 43s to 46s for New Zealand wheat. The scheme fer the reorganisation oi the Egyptian army which has beer drawn up by Baker Pasha has been finally approved of by the Egyptian Government. It has been agreed by the Egyptiar Government that Arabi and his associates shall all be allowed the services of English counsel on their trial, whicl will be accordingly commenced forthwith.
