ANN UAL MEETING.
The annual meeting of tbe Feilding Jockey Club' was held in tbe commercial room of Roe's Denbigh Hotel on Saturday evening last. Mr Letbbridge was voted to the chair. — The secretary, Mr i Jackson, read the balance-sheet, as • follows : — Statement of receipts and ex- ■ penditure : "Receipts : Cash for privi- ) leges, £127 17s ; cash for members' sub--3 seriptions, £28 7s ; cash for entries, j feee, &c, £87 17s; total, £244 Is.— ; Expenditure : Paid for labour, £20 13s ? 6d ; advertising, &c, £9 19s ; tirnber, - &a., ±8 10s Gd; stamps, telegrams, £3 i 4s 2d ; scales, £2 15s 8d ; stakes, r £175; total, £220 8s lOd ; balance r of receipts over expenditure, £17 12s 1 2d. — Assets: Members' subscriptions un- - paid, £20 ss; property on hand, £5; r fees unpaid, £10 ; bulance in bank, £17 !- 12s 3d ; total, £58 17s 2d.— Liabilities : t Outstanding accounts, £13 6s 6d; bal- •, lnnce of assets over liabilities, £45 10s y 8d. — W. [ club to be ex offido members of the committee. — Mr Lethbridge was elected president, on the motion of Mr Fearon, seconded by Mr Jackson. — Proposed by Mr Jackson, and seconded by Mr Morphy, that Messrs Macarthur and Ameshury be re-elected vice-presidents. — Mr Jackson was re-elected secretary and treasurer, on the motion of Mr F.earon, seconded by Mr C. Roe, sen. — Proposed by Mr Jackson, seconded by Mr Fearon, that Mr Dawson be elected auditor, and that the Bank of Australasia be the bank of the club. — On the motion of Mr Jackson, seconded by Mr 0. Roe, sen., it was resolved, That the thanks of the club be acccorded to Messrs Lethbridge and Downes for L the use of their ground as a course last year, and with their permission the races be held on the same ground next year. (Messrs Lethbridge and Downes gave their consent to the request of the club.) — A discussion ensued as to the advisableness of forming a new course on the present ground, or improving the old one. Ultimately Mr Lethbridge proposed, and Mr Downes seconded, That a sub-committee be appointed, consisting of Messrs Jackson, Morphy, and Fearon, to make the necessary improvements to the course, and to commence the work as soon as possible. — Proposed by Mr Jackson, and seconded by Mr Morphy, That the Feilding Jockey Club hold its next meeting on Easter Monday, the 11th April. — A vote of thanks to the chairman and secretary terminated the proceedings.
