SERIOUS RACING ACCIDENT.
The Hack Hurdle Baca at yesterday's pleasant racing meeting did not pass over without a serious accident. Mr B. Watt was riding Dianthus, a horse much fancied for the stake. The various competitors for the race wei-e only started, but at the first hurdlo the horses were much crowded and Dianthus came into collision with furze. The result was that Mr Watt was thrown heavily upon his head, his left forehead striking the ground with frightful violence. By a mere chance he fell exactly opposite where the carriage of his father Mr Watt, M.H.E., was standing, and into this vehicle" the wounded man was at once removed. Drs Earle and Conolly, who wore upon the course, were instantly in attendance, but it was found that Mr Watt was suffering ftom severe concusfion of the brain, and in fact for some time after his removal into the carriage was delirious and raving. He was subsequently removed to his father's house in the Avenue, and according to our latest advice he was unconscious but progressing fabourably.
