Captain Turner, of the cutter Southern Cross, which arrived here on Saturday afternoon, reports that the brig Wave, bo-*nd from Dtmedin to Auckland, in bi)la«t, went ashoro at ■ Port Hardy, DarvUle's Island, on Tuesday, October 3. She was 20 days out, and h- d experienced some very rough" weather, which caused her to seek shelter at Port Hardr, but she anchored too close to the shore, and, in swinging round, her keel touched. the ground, and sho drove up on the beach. 'She is on a soft bottom, and has worked herself about two feet in tbe sand. She was discovered a few days after she went ashore by the settlers on tho Isl nd, who communicated the news to Captain Turnr. Tbe master of the .iWave, who is also the owner, had hopes of getting his vessel off last springs, but as they were rather low it is probable tbat she is still ashore. Tbe Wave was but Blightly injured when the Southern Cross left. Tbe crew got ashore safely, and are now on the Island. Fort Hardy, it mar be men* tic- ed,is about 10 miles from i elson. — Mail, 16th October,
