RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
« Wednesday, 18th August. (Before E. Hardcastle, Esq , E.M.) criminal. Breaches of the Bohottgh By1/aws. — Mrs Stephen Hooper ivas charged with having swept rubbish on to Ridgway-street. Defendant did not appear, but Mr Hooper, who was in Court stated that it was a common thing for shopkeepers to do. His Worship dismissed the case and cautioned the public that in future persons guilty of this offence would be fined. — George Lynch was charged with, having permitted a korse to wander at large in Harrison Place. He was fined ss, with 6s costs.— Patrick O'Hara was fined 10s and costs 7s for permitting two cows to be at large. — Margaret Marshall was also fined 15a and 9s costs for allowing two calves and one cow to wander. — Ann. Blythe, for a similar offence, was fined 10s, costs 7a. — Alexander Murray pleaded guilty to permitting a horse to be at large, and was fined 5s with, costs 7s.— Robert Gordon, for allowing 3 horses to be at large, was fined 5s each and 7s costs. — George Hurley, for allowing one horse to be large, was fined 5s and costs 7s.
