[BY TELEGRAPH.] DtTNEDIN, Oct. 30. The sixth half-yearly meeting of the National Insurance Company. will be held on the 1 3th November. From the report to be submitted, it appears that the total receipts for the half-year, including £6,563 6s Id carried forward from previous balance, have been £51,890 10s 9d, and the expenditure for the same period to have been £38,461 17s Id, leaving for distribution the sum of £13,428 133 Bd. This sum, the Directors recommend, should be appropriated as follows : — To payment of dividends at the rate of 20 per cent, per annum, £5000 ; to be carried forward to next half-year, £8,438 18s Bd. Provision has been made in the accounts for £7,856 14s 6d for unadjusted losses, also reinsurance in Marine Department, and all known liabilities at the date of closing the books, and which have been duly carried to profit and loss account. Owing to the heavy losses, the Directors are unable to recommend that any sum he carried to the reserve fund at this balance.
