PHANTOM was bred by Mr Hewitt, at Nonsuch, in Tasmania, in 1868, by Phanfcom; dam by Old Panic, imported rrom England by Mr Samuel BJackwell, of Melton Mowbray; grand dam was bred by Mr Joseph Wright, of Oaklands, by Old Vanish, dam Eucalyptus. Phantom's grandsire was Phantom,' bred sin England, and imported' to Tasmania by Mr ; W. iLearney. Phantom was winner of the Maiden Plate at Eichmond, Tasmania, in a canter. Phantom is a magnificent dappled brown horse standing 15 hands 3 inches, with admirable sy mmetry and. po wer. TEEMB — £& 4s : ; Limited to 60 Mares Note : Phantom is acknowledged by competent judges to be the most honest sire standing this season in the Wanganui Districts. Aiso, The Powerful Clydesdale Entire, YOUNG LOFTY, YOUNG- LOFTj"is% ( 01dLofty, out of an imported Tasmanian mare. Young Lofty is a bright dappled bay, stands 16 hands 3 inches in height, of immense frame, a model as regards muscular. : development and symmetry, and has also proved his capabilities as a sure foal getter. Terms— Single Mare, £3 3s: tvvo or more as per agreement. Note: Young Lofty is a most worthy scion of the oldtstock, and is admitted to be one of 'tlie most pro mising Clydesdales which has. been bred in the district. ' " To Young Lofty was awarded,, in 1873, the medal offered by : the Aramoho Stud Company, for the best yearling' by' Old Lofty, and his splenid points and grand, proportions have been universally admired by breeders of draught stock. Mcleod & McGregor, Proprietors. Oct 9 NOTICE. To Horse Breeders in the Eangitikei Manawatu, and Wanganui Districts. TO Stand this Season the Steeple, chase and Hunting Entire Horse "ST. ALBANS." St. Albans will leave the stables of his former owner, Donald Frazer, Lower Rangitikei, every Monday ; travelling through Bulls and Marton, remaining at Turakina the same night, returning by the same route on the following Tuesday. St Albans will also be at Sandon at noon every Friday, passing through Bulls going and coming. Good paddocks will be provided at the owner's farm, at a charge of Is 6d per week. All care taken of mares but no responsibility incurred. Fees to be paid to the groom in Jharge on or before the first of February, 1877.
