THE MELBOURNE CUP. MELBOURNE. Oct. 27. Yesterday, Valentia did a splendid gallop, and has come with a rush in the betting. Timothy and Luna colt also did a good gallop. The following was the betting for the Cup yesterday :— 7 to 1 Fen d' Artifice ; 8 to 1 Irish Stew and Valentia ; and 14 to 1 Timothy, who is heavily backed.
