Mosquito, from Liverpool, early in Dec. The St. Kilda, we understand, has been neaped in the Buller river. The tides still continue to make but very little. Yesterday it did not rise more than fifteen inches, tf the increase is no greater to-day, it cannot bo expected that tho Storm- - bird will come up to the wharf. C _ The Arthur Wakefield is discharging all her timber by punt, to enable her to come up to' the wharf. • The s.s. Murray, Capt. Conway, left Nelson nt 10.20 on Wednesday, 25th inst., and ex- - perienced fine weather throughout, arriving off the bar at 2 p.m. yesterday. Owing to _ the shallow depth of water on tho flats, tho Murray could not reach the wharf, and was ', obliged to come to an anchor off the Landguard Bluff. There was only 5 feet 6 inches . of water on the flats, and the steamer, having on board a large cargo, was drawing 7 feet 6 ' inches. The Murray is advertised to sail for Nelson, Westport, Greymouth, and Hokitika, at 3 o'clock this afternoon. It will be seen ; : that, for freight or passage, intending shippers or passengers will, on this occasion, have to apply to the agent on board the steamer. [BY CABLE]. Sydney, Oct. 26. The ship La Hogue arrived safely to-day.
