The Southern Cross of the 19th April announces the arrival there of tbe chiefs Tamihana te Rauparaha and Hohepa iatualiengia, from Wellington. Their visit is a somewhat important one, as they intend, if possible, to visit the King on an official (Government ?) mission in order to endeavour to establish the basis of a permanent peace between the Europeans and the natives.
