GREAT FIRE AT OKARITA. Hokitika, Saturday, 10 a.m. A great fire broke out at Okarita, burning down three hotels, the Bank of New South Wales, and a butcher’s shop. A cottage was pulled down to prevent further destruction. LATER FROM TARANAKI. The following telegrams have been received from Nelson : The Taranaki news is that ihaia with a force of friendly natives, under Captain Good has been sent to look after the force under laupari, near the White Cliffs. Taupari, though in the pay of the Government, is suspected of treachery, and hence this movement. It is believed that fighting between Ihaia and Taupari’s people is probable.
