FIRST DAH. 1. Produce Plate of £ , added to a Sweepstake of £3 3s. each, PP., open to all horses foaled in the colony, and that have never run for Public money. 3 yrs. old, 8 st. 7 lb., 4 yrs. 9 st. 7 lb., 5 yrs. 10 st., 6 yrs, and aged 10 st. 4 lb. Heats, mile and-a-half; second horse to save his stakes. No person allowed to enter a horse unless he is a subscriber of at least one guinea to this Plate. 2. Scurry Stakes of £ , added to a Sweepstake of £ 1 Is. Catch weights; single event; one round and a distance ; second horse to save his stakes. 3. Ladies Purse of £ , added to a Sweepstake of £2 2s each, open to all horses. 3 yrs old lOst 4 lb, 4 yrs l ist 4 lb, 5 yrs 11 st 11 lb, 6 yrs and aged 12 st. Heats, 2 miles ; Gentlemen riders'; second horse to save his stakes. 4. Stock-horse Race of £ added to a sweepstake of £1 each, for Stock horses bona fide the property of Stock-owners in the districts of Wanganui and Rangilikei, that have been regularly ridden after stock for at least 12 months before the date of entrance, and that are not entered for any race of the - present meeting. Weights same as for Wanganui Stakes, post entrances, single event, two miles. 5. Maori Race —(if sufficient funds artsubscribed). SECOND DAY. 1- Hurdle Race of £ , added to a sweepstakes of <£2 2s. each, P. P. 3 yrs 9st., 4 yrs. lOst, 5 yrs. 10 st. 71b., 6 yrs. and aged 1 Qst. 101 b. Heats 2 miles, over six hurdles 4ft. high. Second horse to save his spikes. The winner of the Produce or Ladies’ Purse to carry 41b. extra. 2. Licensed Victuallers' Cup with £ added. Same conditions and hurdles as the Hurdle race. The winner of tjie Hurdle race not eligible to run. 3. Wanganui Stakes of £ , added to a Sweepstake of £2 2s each. Open to all horses; handicap; beats, *2 miles; second horse to save his stakes. 4. Wel.ter, Stakes of £ , added to n Sweepstake of £1 Is. 2 miles, single event. 3yrs 11 st 3 lb, 4 yrs 12st. 3 lb, 5 yrs 12 st 10 lb, 6 yrs and aged 13 st. Post entrances. 4. Consolation Stakes of £ , entrance £1 Is. each, for all horses that have run and not won a race during this meeting. Post entrances, weights to be handicapped by the stewards, single event, once round the course and a distance. Mares and geldings to be allowed 41bs. All jockeys to appear in proper costume.
The following rules and regulations will be strictly adhered to : 1. There shall be a distance post for each race. 2. Any person entering a horse must be a Subscriber of <£l Is. to the Race Fund. 3. Notice is to be given to the Stewards of all Matches that may be wished to be run between any of the Races. 4. No person will be permitted to gallop or ride on the Course'during the Race days. 5. All dogs fouud on the course will be destroyed. 6. The Races will commence punctually at 11 o’clock; halfan-hour allowed between each Heat and Race. 7. All applications for Booths to be made to the Committee, who will point out the sites and regulate the scale of charges for the occupation of the ground. 8. The Rules of the Wellington Jockey Club will be strictly adhered to. Entrances for the Produce:* Plate to be made in writing, to the Stewards, at the! Rutland Hotel on Wednesday, 17th February ; and the entrances for the remaining Races at the Commercial Hotel, on Monday, 29th February —to close at 10 p.m. precisely. All disputes to be referred to the Stewards,; whose decision will be final. Subscriptions will be received at the Bank, of New South Wales. By order of the Steward?, C. W. BRQUGHTON, Hon. Sec. and Treas. N.B.—After this date all horses found training on the enclosed portion of the Racecourse will - be disqualified, a certain part of the Course having been set aside foi training purposes.
