LOCAL INTELLIGENCE.
In the Provincial Government Gazette , published on the 20 inst., the appointment of the following Gentlemen as a “Wanganui Bridge Committee” is officially announced, —viz., R. W. Smith, Esq., J.P., W. H. Watt, Esq., J.P., W. Boyle, Esq., John Cameron, Esq., J.P., 7ohu Nixon, Esq., J.P., W. T. Owen, Esq., and H. Churton, Esq. Their powers under the Act will be the erection of the Bridge, and levying of Tolls on traffic over the river.
