Militia By His Excellency Sir George Grey, Knight Commander of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over her Maje.-ty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and Vice-Admiral of the same, &c. WHEREAS by the “Militia Acts Amendment Act 1802” the Governor is empowered from time to time to call out the whole or any part or number of any Regiment, Battalion, Corps, or Company of Militia in any District as he shall think fit, And it appears to me expedient to call out for training and exercise part of the Militia of the District of Wanganui, Now therefore J, Sir George Grey, the Governor as aforesaid, in pursuance of the said recited power, do hereby call out for training and exercise the First and Second Classes of the Militia of the said Wanganui District. And I order Charles Cecil Rookes, Major, the Officer commanding the said District, to carry into effect this direction. Given under my hand, at Government House at Auckland, this Twentyeighth day of September in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and sixty-three. G. Grey. NO. 1 SUB-DISTRICT. Market-place, Wangauni ; Westmere Farm, Grange Farm. 2 o’clock pm. 12 October, 18G3. NO. 2 SUB-DISTRICT. Holder's and Roberts’. Wanganui Ferry. for the Lease of the Wan--1 ganui Ferry, fur a period of twelve months commencing on the first day of December next, will be received at the Resident Magistrate’s office, Wanganui, up to Thursday, the 29th inst., at noon. The 'renders to be addressed to the Bench of Magistrates. Parties tendering are hereby informed that it is the intention of the Government to grant a Licence to a Waterman to cross foot passengers from the upper part of Shakespeare’s Cliff to near the site of the old Gunboat Shed, in the Market-place.
