Cargo of sugar sold on the 3rdr--Crystals at an advance of 30s to 44s ; light brown £22 15s to £25 ; light yellow £26 ; counter £25 10a to £29 17s 6d ; yellow crystals £3B 10s to £39 ; snow drops £4l 2s 6d. Sydney; March 4.—Wheat 4s 6d to 5s ; flour £l3. Tobacco firm—negrohead 2s Id to 4s 4d ; halfpounds Is lid to 3s 2sd ; and tens from Is 8d to 2s 8d per lb. Coffee—Java 7£d to 8d ; Ceylon lid to 11 Jd. Teas, flat and ho sales. Sugars—low brown 20s to 23s ; brown counter 26s to 30s ; yellow 31s to 35s crystals 3s» to 40s. Wines dull. Rum 3s 3d. Brandy 11s 3d.
Melbourne, March 2 Cargo, of Sugar sold —first counters £34 ; good £32 10s; medium £3l 15s ; grey crystals £36 10s. Dunedin, March 16. For the week previous Messrs Driver Maclean A; Co. report an improved demand for all kinds of stock, but especially : for store sheep and cattle. Since importation, has been allowed from Gipps Land, about 700 head have ; arrived, but as many of the shipments were unprofitable and two a total loss, ih y are expected to fall off. Fat Cattle.—2s head Wellington sold at seventeen to twenty two pounds, and 50 head at ; 555. per hundreds 555. is quoted for beef of fair quality. Store Cattle.—Market rates for mixed herds Nine Pounds ten shillings to Ten Pounds. Bullocks and Cows. —Workers £45 to £55 a pair. First class dairy cow 9 £2O. Fat Sheep. —Prime sheep are much wanted* and would bring 7d. to 74d. per lb. Wethers, inferior quality, 235. to 2Ss. r Store Sheep.— Ew©3, 2-tooth to full mouthed acclimatised 275. to 30s. ; wethers 245. to 263. Horses. I —A large number of race-horses put up for sale, but only Shillelagh, Phantom, Birthday, and Will o’ the Wisp were sold First class draught horses £7O to £95 ; second class £55 to £6O ; inferior £25 to £35 ; first-class saddle and harness £4O to £55 ; inferior £8 to £35. Stations. —Mount Wendon Station in the south of the province sold to Robert Stewart Esq. for L9OOO. . It contains 35,000 acres, with 50S0 sheep.
