Wanganui, October 30.—Wheat 65,. barley ss, oats 6s, maize 6s per bushel, flour (at Netlye mill) £l7, (in town) £lB per 2000 lbs, potatoes £3per ton*, bread—4 lb. loaf lOd butter wholesale. Is 4d retail Is 6d. per lb, bacon, wholesale 8d per lb. Canterbury, October 11. —During the past month trade has been somewhat brisker, with a heavy demand for seed oats,, which may be quoted from 7 s to Bs, while for feed. 6s 6d.to 7s has been paid freely. Wheat has been, more m demand, and the spring sowing interfering.with the delivery has caused less anxiety to. sell.; prices may be quoted, firm at from 4s 6d to 5b for white, and 4s to 4s 6d. for red. Flour remains at last quotations, vik, £l4 per ton, for silk dressed best brands, and £l2 to £l3 for second quality. „ Wethers, 23s to 25s ; fat do, 30 to 31s ; well bred ewes, two, four, and six-tooth, 29s to 345, deliverable after shearing. Cattle, 40s per 100 lbs. £IOO for 1000 acres may be taken as about the value of average good sheep runs { improvements at a valuation ; but there are many stations would readily find purchasers at Higher rates.
