Guiding Star, trading between Dunedin and Invercargill, when on berpassage from Invercargill to Riverton on the 27th nit., struck, heavily on what the Captain takes to be a lost anchor, abreast of the Bombay rock in the New River. She was run ashore on a sandy beach about 12 miles from Invercargill, and the passengers. and cargo were safely landed. The vessel is not insured, but the owner expects to get her off without much difficulty.
