The respect-l ive scores were: —The English team, 135,1 land the United Twenty-two, 135, with] [twelve wickets to fall. The fielding on| [the part of the Eleven must nave been] good, for ten wickets -went dowp with] jonly 36 runs. On the other mind, the! [small scores made by them have been the! 'subject of much speculation, and those] [who have heavily backed the Englishmen] jto win every match they played,' appear! [inclined to say that they “gave” the] match. It must be recollected, however,! that the Eleven have been Averting very| ihard since their arrival'in the colonies,! that they have liar ly had one day’s rest J and that, change of climate mlist, affect! them considerably.
