Tiie Harvest. The crops are now fa 11 _ ing before the scythe and sickle here. The only reaping machine in the district has not yet begun its work, but will in a day or two, on as fine a piece of wheat as one would wish to see, likely to.average at least 40 bushels;'an acre. Induction Of Rev. Mr. Allsworth. This gentleman was inducteb into the charge of rhe Presbyterian churches of: I urakina and Western Bangitikei on Sunday last. The Rev. Mr. Hogg of Wanganui, Moderator of the Presbytery of Wellington, preached an able and eloquent discourse on the first clause of Heb.Vlll. 6. in which he 'instituted a comparison between the Jewish priesthood and that of Christ,' and at 3he end exhibited the ideal of a Christian ministry, and in doing so addressed some pertinent remarks to the minister abottfto be inducted. Having read the Minutes of Presbytery bearing on the case, Mr- Hogg inroduced Mr. Allsworth formally to the congregation. The service was conducted at Turakina in the morning, and in the upper district in the afternoon. The attendance in both places was very good.
