Cavalry Volunteers desirous of contest* in£ for the Prizes, are requested to give their names into the Militia Office on an early day, that they may be supplied with ammunition. - /Wanganui, May 15, 1861. ; 1. The 'Firing for the Government Prizeswill (weather commence, with >No. 1 Company; Rifle Voluuteers, at the RaceCourse Rifle Range, on Monday, the 27th inst., at 9 a.m., and the day’s firing will conclude at the latest at 3 o’clock p.m. - Tuesday, the 28th; and. Wednesday, the29th inst., will also be set apart for iVo. 1 I Company, on whiclr days the Firing will commence at 9 a.m., weather permitting. 2. No. 2 Company Rifle ! Volunteers will,, under the same arrangement, commence firing for the prizes on Friday, the 31st May, and Monday, the 3rd June, and Tuesday, the 4th June, will be set apart for'No. 2 Company, under arrangements alluded to in paragraph. No. 1.
