COOPER. . /Wanganui, May 10,1.861. 2. -The days appointed‘for Ball Practice oft No. 1 Company during this month," are Mondays and Fridays at 7 a.m. and 2-p.m. ForNo. 2 Company Tuesdays and Saturdays, at; 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. This leaves /Wednesdays and Thursdays for* private practice, and Militiamen and Cavalry Volunteers desirous of. contesting for thePrizes are recommended to.take advantage of these days for practice.. A-non-commissioned officer will be in attendance at the Practice ground on /Wednesdays and Thursdays, with lifles and ammunition, at 3 o’clock p.m. S. Cavalry Volunteers desirous of contest* in£ for the Prizes, are requested to give their names into the Militia Office on an early day, that they may be supplied with ammunition. - /Wanganui, May 15, 1861. ; 1. In reference to Orders of the 10th inst., it is intimated that a day will be ‘set apart fori the Militia and Cavalry Volunteers to contest for- tho Prizes - after the Rifle Volunteer Companies have all competed in the contest. ’ By order, . There will be a: Government Parade for No. 4 Company on Saturday, the Ist June, at'Mr. George Patteraoa!s,. at. 1L o’clock,, for Ball practice. By Order, ALFEED ROSS, • Lieut, and Acting Adjutant;. May 22, 1861. 1. The 'Firing for the Government Prizeswill (weather commence, with >No. 1 Company; Rifle Voluuteers, at the RaceCourse Rifle Range, on Monday, the 27th inst., at 9 a.m., and the day’s firing will conclude at the latest at 3 o’clock p.m. - Tuesday, the 28th; and. Wednesday, the29th inst., will also be set apart for iVo. 1 I Company, on whiclr days the Firing will commence at 9 a.m., weather permitting. 2. No. 2 Company Rifle ! Volunteers will,, under the same arrangement, commence firing for the prizes on Friday, the 31st May, and Monday, the 3rd June, and Tuesday, the 4th June, will be set apart for'No. 2 Company, under arrangements alluded to in paragraph. No. 1.
3. The Dressing Bugle will sound every' morning on these occasions, at .8 a.m. 4. The Officers of No. 2 Company will keep the score for No. 1 Company, and the.. Officers cf No. 1 Company, for No. 2‘ Company. * 5. Lists of names by squads vvill be made out, detailing the order of Firing, immediately after Parade on the Queen’s Birth Day. 6. Orders connected with firing .for the prizes will be given to; No, 3 Company, at the Croverumeut Parade, at Turalrina, on Thursday, the 30th instant,, and to No. 4 Company at the Government Parade, at Mr. George Patterson’s, on /Saturday, the v Ist June. 7. Officers and "men of the ,Militia and; Cavalry Volunteers, will have Notice of the day oil which they are to contend for the prizes.
