The Eastern question, a revival of which at the time of our last publication seemed to be announced by some ominous symptoms, has subsided for the present. ,- . Russia proceeds in her great enterprise of serf-emancipation. The Emperor Alexander has worked so well, that whereas the period fixed for the abolition of serfdom was twelve years, the task , will be completed in two, and on reasonable terms.
