We have received a letter (for which we have not space), suggesting the'propriety of beginning an Agricultural and Horticultural Society in the district. A proposal of the' kind was made foiir years ago, and forty members were obtained, hut nothing more was done. Our correspondent suggests, that the matter should be taken up at the meeting to be held on the 2nd May for establishing a market—also an excellent idea.
