For the report of the engagement at Waireka, in another column, we are indebted to the Taranaki Newsoi the 7th inst.,and to a gentleman of this neighbourhood, who was present as a volunteer under Captain Atkinson. It is strictly correct, with this exception, that the distance of Mr. Browm’s house from the town is little more than six miles ; and it is hoped that it will be perfectly intelligible, even to those who have not been over the ground.
