GRASS FIRE OUTBREAK YESTERDAY AFTERNOON (“Times-Age” Special.) An alarm of fire was sounded yesterday afternoon at 3.15 o'clock after the Wairarapa express had passed, the grass in Daniel Street being found ablaze. The brigade was quickly on the scene and extinguished the flames with beaters. Swimming Club Dance The Featherston Swimming Club will hold its annual dance on Saturday night in the Town Hall. The committee is working hard to make the dance as successful as its previous gatherings. Personal Items. Driver B. Bockett, who has recently returned from service overseas, and Mrs Bockett, Miss Nancy Sadler i and Miss Blanchard (Palmerston North) are the guests of Mrs W. H. Sadler. ■ Miss Jean McGill is spending a holiday, with Mrs A. Clark, Carterton. Mr and Mi’s W. Rutherford, Pahiatua, are the guests of Mr and Mrs Frank White. Constable Alex McLeod, Auckland, is visiting Featherston and is staying with his daughter, Mrs N. Carey. COSY THEATRE “BEHIND THE EIGHT BALL.” Tomorrow night there will be presented the excellent musical comedy, “Behind the Eight Ball,” the cast including the Ritz Bros., Carol Bruce, and Dick Foran. An outstanding comedy, “Henry and Dizzy” will also be shown, the leading roles in which are in the hands of Jimmy Lydon and Mary Anderson.
