PARK CLUB. PROGRESSIVE THREES TOURNEY. The progressive threes tourney of the Masterton 'Park Bowling Club yesterday was very successful. In the threes, all players interchanged, and this novel departure was welcomed. The green was in splendid order, thanks to the fine work of Messrs Andrews, Newton and Moore. The prize, a lamb, donated by Mr H. B. Thomas, president of the Masterton Club, was shared by Messrs J. G. Shearer (skips), with 4 games (70 points), W. Lewis (threes), . with 5 games, and W. Davies (leads), with 4 games (73 points). Championship games played resulted: —Singles: H. Smith, last year’s champion, was eliminated by Kilgour and Carr in closely contested games. R. Simpson beat G. Brown, Darvill beat Kilgour, Shearer beat Osborne, Wallace beat O’Donnell, E. Brown beat Winhall, Carr beat Jenkins. Pairs: J. Ewington and Stimpson lost to Griffiths and Spackman, Duckworth and Jenkins beat Scrivener and Bell, Wallace and Shearer beat Trevorrow and Simpson. Feathers: The new holders are Moore and Andrews. Keatley Medals: The holders now are Stimpson and G. Brown.
Coming attractions include the social gathering open to members and their wives, on Saturday, January 8.
