MASTERTON CLUB
LAST NIGHT’S COMPETITIONS
The Masterton Swimming Club continued its weekly competitions last night, when the following events were decided: — Junior girls: 25yds handicap, M. Stewart 1, Y. Ihaka 2. M. Hoar 3; 50yds handicap. M. Hoar 1, Y. Ihaka 2, M. Stewart 3. Junior boys: 25yds handicap, W. Sinclair 1, M. Voice 2, M. Saunders 3; 50 yds, M. Voice 1, I. Reynolds 2, W. Sinclair 3; dive, R. Finlayson 1, M. Voice and W. Sinclair, equal, 2. Intermediate girls: 25yds handicap, M. Wickens 1, J. McCormack 2. L. Burton 3; dive, J. McCormack 1, M. Hoar 2. Men: 50yds handicap, T. Burns 1, L. Wickens 2, F. Sexton 3; dive, Bollings 1, C. Thorn 2, M. Kjar 3; 25yds dash, L. Wickens 1, T. Burns 2, C. Smith 3. The next competitions will be held on January 5. Several members competed at the swimming trials in Wellington. I. Reynolds won his heat in the 100yds junioi boys’ race and was third in the 220yds trials. L. Wickens was second in his heat in the 100yds intermediate boys’ race and D. Stewart won the 66 2-syds handicap. The club will hold a carnival on January 22.
