CHRISTMAS DANCE

W.W.S.A. GATHERING LAST NIGHT PRESENTATION TO MRS McMINN The Masonic Hall, Masterton. was crowded with a large and happy gathering last night when a Christmas dance was held by the Masterton Women’s War Service Auxiliary. Paper hats were distributed and added to the festivity of the occasion. Sergeant M. Hart was an efficient M.C. and kept the proceedings moving with a swing. Miss A. Tooby and Mr D. Tooby won a fox trot statue waltz and Mrs Gretjn won a lucky chair competition. Among others songs were contributed by Misses H. Tauwhare. W. Nini and Mrs Green. A presentation was made to the secretary, Mrs O. McMinn, in recognition of her outstanding services. In making the presentation Mrs G. Whittaker spoke of Mrs McMinn’s capabilities and popularity. Mrs McMinn acknowledged the gift and the remarks expressed. Supper was served by the canteen section.
