OBITUARY

MR H. W. HORNE. A respected resident of Masterton, Mr Herbert William Horne, passed away in the Masterton Hospital early this morning. Born in Wellington 68 years ago, he had for the past 50 years .resided in the Wairarapa. He carried on a butchery business in Martinborough and later farmed a property at Kaituna, coming to Masterton 30 years ago. Since then he had been in business as a billiard saloon proprietor. His wife predeceased him 15 years ago. He is survived by a daughter, Miss E. J. Horne (Masterton), and five,sons, Messrs N. P. Horne (Masteftbii), G. H. Horne (Tauranga), J: B. Horne (New South Wales, Australia), P. G. Horne (prisoner of war, Italy), and E. E. Horne (serving with the South Pacific forces).

The funeral will take place tomorrow, leaving the Chapel of Hyde’s Funeral Service Ltd., following a service at 2.30 p.m. for the Masterton Cemetery.
