“THUNDER BIRDS” Tonight there will be shown the brilliant drama of, the air, “Thunder Birds,” telling the story of avenging eagles from the four corners of the earth, performing daring deeds as they fly for vengeance and victory. It is presented in beautiful technicolour, and was filmed at the United States Army’s famous Thunderbird and Falcon fields. It is one of the most thrilling pictures ever brought to the screen, and is superbly acted. The chief roles are taken by Gene Tierney, Preston Foster, John Sutton, Jack Holt and May Whitty. The principal characters are a young English doctor trying for his wings as an R.A.F. trainee in Texas, a hard-boiled instructor, and a girl with whom both of them fall in love. There is the usual rivalry between the men, with the advantage all on the instructor's side, but everything comes right in the end. Some exciting flying adds to the picture's interest.
