RONGOKOKAKO

WOMEN’S INSTITUTE COMPETITION RESULTS. (“Times-Age” Special.) Mrs W. J. O’Neil extended a warm welcome to all members and vistiors at the monthly meeting of the Rongokokako Women’s Institute. Mrs A. Morton and Mrs Deadman were welcomed as new members. Members were asked to grow three seed potatoes in connection with the Crewe Rose Bowl competition. Special delphinium seeds for competition among the members were donated by Mrs F. Baucke. The competitions for the month resulted as follows:—Best lettuce: Mrs S. Malton 1, Miss Ursula Payne 2, Mrs F. Eaucke 3. Three roses: Mrs F. Baucke 1, Mrs J. P. Sigvertsen 2, Mrs F. Goggin 3. Premier bloom: Mrs F. Baucke 1, Mrs Morriss, Senr., 2, Mrs J. P. Sigvertsen and Mrs H. Mac Kay, equal, 3. Three flowers: 'Mrs F. Baucke 1, Mrs K. Falkner 2, Mrs J. P. Sigvertsen 3. The Rev. Mr and Mrs H. Utting were the judges of the competitions. The school children gave several items and took part in games and competitions. Afternoon tea was then served to the children bj' the Institute members.

Mr H. J. Winter thanked the members for the hospitality extended to the children. The president thanked all those who helped to make the meeting such a success, the children for their items, and Mrs K. Falkner, who donated the ice cream.
