CHILDREN’S PARTY

HELD BY WOMEN’S INSTITUTE UPPER PLAIN GATHERING (“Times-Age” Special.) The Upper Plain Women's Institute concluded its activities for the year with a children’s party held in Mr Clement’s garden. The grounds had been decorated with flags, etc., and presented a very gay appearance. There was a good attendance of members and friends, accompanied by their small children.

Twenty infant-room children under their mistress, Mrs Gordon Wilson, were present from the Feniridge school. Folk dances on the lawn, recitations and short plays were given by the children and were greatly enjoyed by the adult audience. Refreshments were served to the children. A Christmas tree bearing a little gift for each of the 37 children was the centre of attraction. The parcels were cut from the tree by Mrs Gordon Laing, assisted by Mrs Clement. *

Before leaving the children showed their appreciation by giving three hearty cheers for the members of the Institute.

A presentation was made to a member who had made her home available for the monthly meetings. At the close of the gathering the president. Mrs Laing wished members and their friends the compliments of the season. The Institute thanked Mr Clement' for the use of his garden and for all that he did to make the gathering the success that it was.
