THE AEROPLANE
40 YEARS OLD THIS WEEK. On December 17, 1903, the Wright Brothers in U.S.A, made the first flight over a distance of 120 feet —90 feet short of the wing span of a modern, bomber. Starting with this historic event Walt Disney has produced the aeroplane’s spectacular career in a full length, all colour, picturisation of Major Alexander de Seversky’s notable book “Victory Through Air Power.” This famous designer and pilot of great aircraft demonstrates the vast possibilities of aerial strategy and the advantages of land-based longrange bombers. The film, which will be shown at the State Theatre, Masterton, in the near- future, is considered to be the Motion Picture industry’s greatest contribution to the cause of military aviation. It has stirred the imagination of the American people and is helping to marshal the mighty force of their opinion behind the building of air power as their. most thrilling and glowing hope for- victory.
