“THE MAGIC RUBY”
PRESENTATION BY ST. BRIDE’S CONVENT EXCELLENT ENTERTAINMENT The St. Patrick’s Assembly Hall was packed with an appreciative audience last night when the pupils of St Bride s Convent presented "The Magic Ruby, an Oriental operetta in three acts. The operetta was wonderfully well presented and ail taking part were a ciedit to the nuns who trained them. Particular mention should be made of the singing. The costuming was brilliantly effective and the lighting effects arranged by Mr J. Bouzaid were most pleasing. Both in chorus and solo work, the spoken parts were particularly cleai. Following was the cast: Mortals — Molly O'Neal, the General’s adopted daughter, Eileen Ryan; her friends Elsie, Judith Kjestrup; Violet, Peggy Power; Rose, Shirley Prentice; Dorothy, Kathleen Brophy; Madge, Beverly Bryant; Major-General Bangs, V.C., Colleen Lunch; Patrick McGee, his : servant, Joyce Kerridge; Harry Lisle, i clerk in Govt, office, Yvonne Saunders; I the Rajah of Rajahpore, Joan Spora; lAh Sin, his Chinese servant, Nora I Spring; native girls, populace, etc. Immortals. —Electra, the Goddess of Light, Margaret Hoar; Raj the Rakshasha, Maureen Cairns; Imps of Darkness —P Bouzaid, J.
